Victory has recruited aggressively for the new season, with Costa Rican international Carlos Hernandez, Qantas Socceroo Ljubo Milicevic, former English Premier League player Joseph Keenan and Brazilian Leandro Love joining the squad.
Former National Soccer League Championship winner Matthew Kemp has come across from Adelaide United, along with young guns Kaz Patafta, Evan Berger and Mitchell Langerak.
Victory has retained the bulk of its Hyundai A-League 2007 Championship winning squad, including three of the top four players from last season’s Johnnie Warren Medal – Captain Kevin Muscat, Reebok Golden Boot Award Winner Danny Allsopp and Grand Final hero Archie Thompson.
Last season, Melbourne averaged over 35,000 fans to games at Telstra Dome, including an Australian domestic football record of 55,436 for the Hyundai A-League 2007 Grand Final. We anticipate another huge season of Hyundai A-League action.
